The inconspicuous structure next to St. Barbara’s Cathedral remembers the time just before the start of construction. At that time, the Brotherhood of Corpus Christi established a cemetery chapel with an ossuary inspired by the famous ossuary in Sedlec. The small cliff above the valley of the Vrchlice River became the foundation for this high Gothic chapel with a magnificent hall. The chapel remained in the original shape until the arrival of the Jesuits who initiated a series of reconstructions resulting in a new entrance with a Baroque portal.
